This was my experience on 22/06/11: the blond doorman was very rude (he should be sacked) - quizzed me then decided I was too drunk to be let in (I'd had only 2 lo alcohol beers) I'd been here many times before -no problem with the other door staff. He chatted up & let in 3 str8 girls, was rude to an older couple & let in more str8 girls. This is listed as a gay bar it is NOT. No problems elsewhere in London where I spent my hard earned cash instead; so I hope this place shuts down asap !

Hi there, I was there on 29 dec 2011 and was assaulted by a blond bouncer. I was looking for my shopping in the upstairs by that was closed and a bouncer was called and he shoved me out of the bar and then when I was outside he shoved me to the ground. I have injuries I my face hands knees and teeth. I went to the police. Did you file a suit? Can you give me some advice on how you did this and who you used because I want to do the same.

Incredibly over-priced drinks only explained by maybe the decoration and the hot dancers, but apart from those two, nothing else was fine.
Had no problems with bouncers and the staff was professional enough, but I don't think I'll go back anytime soon.
The crowd that gets together in here is maybe what I would call a slightly older G-A-Y crowd as they are still over-dressed queens, but over 20 years of age.

We went for a drink at this club while celebrating our anniversary night in London on 3/5/11. The place was packed full of people to the extent that I reminded my husband to pay attention to each-and-every Exit sign/door in the event that we needed to get out in an emergency...! I was surprised to read how many people had difficulty getting past the doorman - with the crowds inside I wouldn't have even thought that anyone was counting heads with regard to the capacity of the venue. The music, service, go-go dancers (not my thing...), and drink prices are all what you would expect from a nightclub in the city. Though several reviewers hated this place, the crowds speak for themselves: LOADS of people drinking, dancing, Happy, and enjoying the company of each other within their own groups.

This is the worst place in London to go. Toilets with grafity about Lesbians! Cheap offers and cheap service! Disgusted! All I ask for is a place with ok service a bit of air con and door staff that treat you with respect not attitude. Village Soho is a joke!

Disgraceful behaviour by the door manager, left my boyfriend and myself filing a law suit against this organisation for defamation of character. Just because I am wearing a leather jacket I was told I looked dodgy. I was not drunk, am a perfectly respectable member of society. I will never go to this bar again, and suggest that fellow gay people AVOID!

I totally agree with you. I have never met such a rude man in all of my life.
I recently came back from London having been there with two friends. Tried on my first night to get in to this lousy place. I was told along with one of my friends that we could go in but not the other guy we were with.
I was not about to be beaten by a moron. next night tried again having had 1 pint at the Admiral Duncan (fab pub). The dorman said I was to drunk to come in. I asked him if he was for real. How the hell this place is open I do not know.
Sorry London, I came away with a shit impression of London. It has to be the worst place I have been to and being quite well travelled I have been to some pretty bad places.

Did you end up suing? I had a terrible experience ther on 29 dec 2011 and was assaulted by the bouncer. If you can give me some advice about suing is be grateful. Thanks.

I work in customer service and cant belief how a london bar can still be in business by treating its clients in this manner, the staff are rude and slow, the prices would be fine if it was backed up with service. The toilets are disgusting and the door staff chatting up women. My company was thinking of booking it for an event, not a chance!!

top banana. had a crackin night in this place last saturday. the bar dancers are a pleasure to watch and whipped the crowd up to a frenzy. i take my hat off to you guys, great showmen and your lovin what you do.ill recommend this place to my mates when ever they are planning on coming to the city.as for the previous comment, you did make me smile you cheapskate.

id expect to pay £15 for 3 drinks in any city never mind soho. also ill set the record straight, im gay, male and women friendly. the doormen, straight, gay , black or white who gives a rats ass about their sexual proclivity. they are pleasing on the eye and do a pretty good job.top bar, top bar dancers and top doormen. you doormen please keep out the biggots, the zenaphobes and the cheapskatesill be back

Me and my 5 mates went to Village, whilst trying to find a karaoke bar. None of us are gay, but it was fun. We were attracted by the dancers griding their poles on the bar! The cocktails are tasty, and my cosmopolitan was £6.20. London prices, I guess. I wouldn't have stayed all night in there, but it was pretty fun, and played good music.

The Village is one of the best bars in Soho. It has by far the fittest gogo boys and bar staff around. The atmosphere on a Friday and Saturday night is amazing and in the week it's nice to just chill on an afternoon and have a drink of coffee with your mates.
The staff at The Village do however tend to have a bit of an attitude, except for the guy who takes your money at the door - he's always polite.
