Worst club I have been in my life !!!! I got kicked out for "doing coke in the toilets" !?!?! I don't take drugs and never have. I got forced out of the club, humiliated. I asked the doorman and then the manager to search me or call the police to prove I was telling the truth, but they just kicked me out. No explanation. They acted like dictators, couldn't care less what I had to say. Because its the only cllub in Richmond they think they can treat customers like crap.
Viva is our local club. We go there twice a month. I've got only good things to say about the place. The music is spot on, especially on Saturdays.
I would never visit Viva again, I had a problem with the cash machine and the guy 'Tom' who was called to assist me was the rudest and most arrogant person I've ever dealt with and quite frankly has no place working with the general public. I spoke to one of the doormen who told me that I am not the first person to complain about 'Tom' and that he was sure I wouldn't be the last. Apparently he is one of the managers!! If you carry on running the club in this manner you'll have no guests left. Ruined what was otherwise a good night in Richmond.
I was at Viva Nightclub in Richmond last weekend. Put our names on the guestlist via their website. It's a nice little club. Music was nice too. Shame they don't do table service. I'll be back.
I turned up with my friend on Saturday night and quiet frankly have never been spoken to and treated so badly by the 'Guestlist guy' on the door.... the bouncers actually looked really embarrassed by how this 'Paul' was with me and my friend... his reason for not letting us in was ridiculous and basically couldn't give me a reason to why he wouldn't let us in. He just knew he had the power to end our night and took great satisfaction from making us wait then turning to us and saying 'actually I have decided no your not coming in'
I liked this place until Sat ! The guy on the door should be taken off as he is turning decent people away !!
Actually didn't go due to the rather unaccomodating reception when trying to organise a guestlist with the club.
No real room for negotiation so decided as a group we were not willing to spend our evening and money there.
Was excited about a night out in Viva and had organised to bring a group of friends on a friday. I organised a guest-list, and was assured we would be allowed in.
Upon arrival the bouncer decided he didn't want to let us in on the grounds that he had seen some of us a few hours earlier and one of us was too 'boisterous' so wouldn't let any of us in. We were perfectly respectable and were causing no disruption at all.
I was thoroughly disappointed with the rude way in which the club treated a group of honest people who just wanted an enjoyable evening, and I wish I had paid more heed to other reviews complaining of the rudeness of the staff.
We were lucky enough to find an alternative club where we were able to salvage our evening, but you can rest assured that I will never visit Viva again.
A nice enough little venue, quite well decorated. Very good lighting & sound system. Mixed music being played by the DJ . Bar stuff was quite slow but it was a very busy night. They take time and effort to perfect the cocktails and use real fruit puree's not the fake cordials i get everywhere else. I have been there once and i will most definteley be going to the venue again.
We visited Viva Club on 16/10/2009. We ordered a bottle of Taittinger Rose, which was "deposited" and poured into glasses while we were on the dance floor.
A highly unusual practice, I think! Back at our table, I tried and discovered that the Champagne tasted flat and "fallen over".
As an expert on fine wines and champagne, it was my opinion that the champagne lacked persistence of mousse. We tried to reason with the waiter who referred us to the Manager.
I explained the situation. He, however, insisted there was nothing wrong with the champagne and refused to exchange the bottle or refund the purchase.
I tried to explain to him what the fault was with the Champagne, making him aware that I know my Champagnes. Instead, while I am talking to him he walked away, closed the door in my face and called a security to escort me from his door.
He was extremely rude and must learn people skills and customer relationship management. He must also learn about the products he is selling and not insist that the customer knows nothing about Champagnes!
He should further implement stringent Health and Safety rules and not allow Patrons to dance holding bottles of beer. It was my first time in Viva, but I doubt to visit such an establishment ever again.
