This is now a pub under a hostel and no longer serves any food.
The furniture is comfortable but a bit tired and the drinks selection is not that exciting, or even that cheap.
A comfortable place to meet for a drink though.

If you’re looking for a private party venue The Walrus Social is a good bet. It’s fairly cheap and they can either supply you with a DJ or you can book your own. Very helpful and accommodating, The Walrus Social is definitely somewhere I’d use again.

The Walrus Social Club was uninteresting with mild mannered staff and a lack of flavour. Although the music was to my taste there wasn't the atmosphere to dance and enjoy it. The Walrus Social Club may be the kind of place I need to venture to with friends rather than alone to actually enjoy it.

What a great bar the Walrus Social is. There's friendly staff, a good selection of beers (if a little pricey), it's tidy, clean and has a superb atmosphere which is mostly due to the apparently happy and lively staff.
The only criticism I could make of Walrus Social is the light, or lack of it, as the bar area is so dark I could hardly see the chap serving me. It wasn't dark enough though for me to miss the sign asking customers not to smoke at the bar. Why do so many pubs have this now? If you don't want to work in a smoky enviroment, don't work in a pub! After all, pubs are for drinking and smoking in and so they should be!
