This film could have been so much better. Stylishly shot? In a retro kind if way I suppose so but I found the cinematography reminiscent of the period in which it's set, the 1970s. That style held me away from feeling involved in the story and the characters in it.

The film never makes it quite clear how the demons feed and why their victims have to die such a gory death. The fight scenes were generally quite good, althoughly I thought the fight scene involving our heroine's mentor was cliched and felt it had been done before in other martial arts films. The CGI demon was quite good given the limitations they probably had on budget and resources.

The final fight between our heroine and the demon Onegin includes a revelation that was so predictable that it was almost laughable.

The reference at the end to escaping a mirror eluded me and left me wondering what had actually happened to our heroine, but also left it open to a sequel.
