Not having read a synopsis beforehand, I found the storyline (and the flashback format) confusing. For instance, I started focusing on Lena's mother and dying father, thinking they were going to play a major part in the story.
I loved the character detail (great performances from all the main players) and the scenes in Lanzarote (although they were rather fleeting - I would like to have seen more made of the island).
The final denouements were rather limp. What I really enjoyed was the film within a film!
