There was nothing Glorious about this film. However, it was incredible how so many celebrated actors ( why not give some new British acting talent a chance? see 'The Hour' ) could be made to act so badly in an obviously expensive period production. What is even more incredible is the lack of candid criticism from established media reviewers. Could this be the key conspiracy of this tragedy?

Superbly polished, with wonderful photography and period detail, but also great emotional intensity from a very fine cast, and really gripping suspense. Deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Atonement, Lust Caution, the Lives of Others...
