A quirky upbeat comedy that combines brilliant jokes with some highly moving issues. Juno certainly makes the list of greatest comedies of all time. A classic in the making. The funniness of it all makes us want to keep watching for the rest of our lives. It's a story told in beguiling flair and, aswell as being utterly hilarious, Jason Reitman's film is a compassionate accountant of one girl's struggles through teenage years. Ellen Page kicks off with style as the pregnant 16 year old Juno who decides to give her baby for adoption. Page's sexiness with a baby bump makes an irresistible load of fun. Juno immerses Page as one of Hollywood's hottest and funniest new stars. The young actress was just made to play the role and is irreplaceable. The way she is able to wear pregnancy so well is unbelievable. Plus some fantastic humour and very powerful scenes makes Juno one of the most beautiful comedies ever made. Simply fabulous.
“It All Started with a chair.” The Memorable opening line of the brilliant new motion picture, Juno. This film is, in my opinion, one of the best films that has been released over the past few years.
Juno is about a young school girl, called Juno, who finds herself with a pregnancy to deal with at 16. As the film goes on we see her battle all her troubles, and bumps along the way.
The film had excellent scripting, screenplay and a sparkling soundtrack created by the fabulous Warner Brothers. The Casting director, Laura Rosenthal, Deserves a standing ovation: For choosing such a great and convincing cast of actors, Such as: Ellen Page (Juno Macguff), J.K. Simmons (Mac Macguff), Michael Cera (Paulie Bleeker), Olivia Thirlby (Leah), Jennifer Garner (Vanessa Loring), and many more supporting actors.
The Stars of Juno were nominated: along with many nominations, for best group of actors, but were beaten by hairspray, However; I would disagree and state that Juno deserved to win the award. They all made a convincing and realistic portrayal of this very sensitive type of film.
Juno was my favourite character because she had a brilliant cheek about her. Every time she slipped out some sarcasm, I was left laughing in my cinema seat! Her character was played excellently by the award nominated, Ellen Page.
In my opinion, if you do not wish to see this film then I am afraid that in my opinion, you are: not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed, As Bren (Juno’s Stepmother would say).
I would recommend this film to anyone because it has a little something for everyone: A little bit of Drama, A vast amount of comedy (sensitive to the issue), a little bit of tragedy, and Sprinkle of Love.
Go see it Homeskillet!
