I will literally fight anyone that wants to argue my film rating here. Just like heaven truly deserves top marks. It tells the compelling love story of Elizabeth, (played by the beautiful Reese Witherspoon) and David (Mark Ruffalo) who meet in very extraordinary circumstances. Elizabeth is an overrun nurse who dedicates all her time to her work, using her time to save lives rather than live hers. This is until a truck hits her on the way home one night. Unable to pass over to the other side she has some ‘unfinished business’ left with David, who has moved into her vacant apartment.

David tries his best to ignore his new ghostly friend but she just wont go away, even moaning about the coffee marks he’s leaving on the living room table. Unfortunately for David however he is the only one who can see Elizabeth. She believes that she is still alive and persuades him to help find out how she’s come to her present state.

The onscreen chemistry between Witherspoon and Ruffalo is amazing and will move everyone during the film. Even though Witherspoons character Elizabeth is ‘dead’ it doesn’t stop her from touching Davids heart. They both put in amazing performances that light up the screen and go to extreme length to prove that romance isn’t dead. There is unusual comedy back up from funny guys Donal Logue (Grounded for Life) and Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) in the form of friend and book store worker with a 6th sense.

The film ends in breath taking manner, although by this point you can probably guess what’s going to happen. This doesn’t take anything away from the film though and only adds to the tension. The sloppy bunch amongst you will probably shshed a tear at this point so have the tissue box ready.

With a cracking storyline, unusual to any other rom com and the script and actors to match, this film is a definite must see so get yourself down to blocbuster right away and enjoy a night in with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo.
