this is a truly great film,ignore the review uve just read by the sneering journalist-chen kaige directs this film beautifully,though changed from the book by nicci french,the art direction and use of colour is stunning throughout and there is a perfect synthesis of all the dramatic elements of a thriller in a wonderfully absorbing psychological odyssey.from richard harrison,ba phil
