Brühl's impersonation of Lauda is Oscar worthy! I am very glad I watched this film. Senna was good but this is even better!

Went along to this based on some good reviews in the media - not because I like formula 1 in any way. It is wonderfully enjoyable. It expertly brings out the drama of the rivalry between these two 'knights' of the racetrack and plays cleverly on their 'types' - Hunt all English cavalier and playboy, Lauda all Germanic efficiency and arrogance. Ironically, it is Lauda who ends up capturing the sympathy of the audience, and Daniel Brühl's performance I am sure will earn him an Oscar nomination, if not a little statue itself - his performance is simply stunning. Hemsworth is great too as Hunt and the pathos of his character is played perfectly. Also some great photograhpy and editing that takes you right into the heart of the race. Thrilling. Great cinema. 5-star entertainment.
