I really enjoyed this and I thought Will's acting was pretty good
Sure it was a bit slow to start and there were a couple of times where I had to make an extra effort to suspend disbelief but all in all I found it very engrossing and original.
I also do a lot of miles on the road and it was a reminder of what one definitely should not do!
Not the best film ever but far from bad.
Those that think the storyline is hard to follow must have missed the first scene as it sets out the storyline quite simply.
will smith done a good job with a simple role and was up to his usual standard.
much better then wild west for sure.
Well I thought that the film was fantastic...a bit slow to start but crucial to establishing and getting to know each character for the end of the film...My husband and I loved the film too as did my daughter and her friend, but we all agreed it would have easy to lose interest at the beginning but realised the importance of the slow start once the film had ended.
I would have been more disapointed if Ben (Tim) had died elegantly because dying is really a pretty sight. However, I did wonder about the the viability of his organs after being poisoned by the jellyfish.....But who cares...I wanted to be moved and I was, I wanted to be entertained and I was.
I really enjoyed trying to work it all out before the end...(And I was so so close)...
I loved the film...I thought Will Smith was, as usuall brilliant...I found it so difficult to stiffle my sobs as did a lot of other people in the theatre....including men.

Ok, I must disagree with the other users who give this film a bad rating...
This film truely made me beleive that Will Smith is a truely amazing actor, possibly the most versatile in the world at the moment.
The film is about Will Smiths life and how he wants to change the lives of 7 others after he caused a car crash that killed 7 people. I wont spoil it anymore than that!
The film is deep, emotional and Will Smith plays that role amazingly.
If you are a fan of Will Smiths more action packed, wise crack laden movies you will hate Seven Pounds and should avoid it. If however you are one of the few brave souls who has both watched and enjoyed either Bagger Vance or The Persuit of Happyness this odd little tale or a do gooding tax inspector may be just your sort of thing. It is a deceptively slow tale which gradually feeds you tiny clues as to what our sorrow laden protagonist is truly up to as he goes about helping a seemingly random bunch of unconnected unfortunates. all with one eventual goal in mind. Along the way he dreams his way through several traumatic flashbacks, aquires an unusual aquatic pet, saves a dog from a life of vegetarianism, finds true love and turns out to be as handy at fixing antique machinery as he is useless at gardening, all while annoying a hotel manager and driving his brother insane with worry.
There is little humour, no fight scenes and no special effects (unless you count a nasty car crash while using a blackberry or a death by Jellyfish) but if your like you Will Smith films slow, serious and just a little bit weepy, give it a go.
