Frankly I thought this was OK.
I don't understand the whole fuss about the plot not being deep enough or Bale not going all Oscar nominee on us..
I'm female but I've seen all Terminator movies and even though I absolutely loved Arny in them I can't say that the new one is any worst plot-wise or action wise..Apart form the special effects which are quite impressive.
I didn't have any expectations about a deep/intricate/Oscar worthy plot or about Christian Bale's acting..(I mean, after watching Arny who used to speak a grand total of 3 words over 3 hours, Christian Bale's grunts didn't affect me that much..)
At the end of the day It's Terminator we are talking about, not Shakespeare.
I WAS expecting a pop corn action movie with a hero who's trying to save the world.. er...isn't it what all these types of movies are about anyway? Star Trek, Terminator, Star Wars etc..?
Personally, in this case I felt that's exactly what I got .If you take it for what it is, mindless pop corn action entertainment, well I think that was entertaining enough..Beats Specsavers in my opinion anyway!
If I had wanted depth and Oscar worthy acting, I'd have gone to see The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke, Doubt with Meryl Street or Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood. These were excellent but in a different league all together.

Should have gone to spec-savers. No seriously, an afternoon spent browsing turtle-shell frames and chatting about contact lenses would have been far more interesting. If you want to watch great action sequences then go see any other action film. If you want to get involved in characters and plot - then go watch someone you don't know buy a pair of spectacles. Awful...
