What could very probably have been a fairly innocuous story with lots of gorgeous scenery and some very fine acting by the fox at least (the little girl is dreadfully dubbed and pretty unappealing in any event) the truth is the 'sweet' film turns into a completely unnecessary shock fest for small children. Why on earth the final scenes have to be so gorey and upsetting is beyond me and my 4 year old son promptly burst into tears and we simply left the cinema. I myself was shocked and had to fight tears - the ending is unnecessary and I can't slate the film enough.
