No where near the original - which used to be one of my favourites, so I was already going into this with an air of speculation.
To me it just felt like they'd re-shot all the good action scenes from the earlier version and stuck em together, forsaking any character building or suspense that previously bonded them so well.

There seems to be a lack of material in Hollywood – having watched the trailed this doesn’t look like it could possibly compare to the original with Rutger Hauer which is a masterpiece.
