I made the mistake of hiring the DVD of this, possibly the worst £3.50 I ever spent...it reminded me of a 6th form media project, made by kids just learning their craft in screenplay, dialogue, costume, acting, cutting...you name it....oh and with some half *rsed contributions from the philosophy and maths courses as well....the DVD contains extras showing how it was thrown together as if you'd want to know..how they got the budget and cast for this is a mystery.

If you are into philosophy and mathemetics, you question God and religions, you can see things on a micro level, in short if you don't have shit for brains, watching this movie will be the best thing you can do in this century perhaps.

To all the idiots who have posted -ive comments, it's not about acting or the cast, it's about the concept. Although acting had no problems (very natural) it's about a point of view in philosophy that there could be no absolute truth. Everything can be rationalised by one of the many complex explainations just like in any logical mathemetical series the next number could be any number. For example 2,4,8 ... will obviously followed by 16 ... but it can also be followed by any number say 298. Al you have to do is to find mathematical justification which is always possible (although complex). The same applies in the real life, no matter what you assume can me justified logically.

The way this relationship b/w numbers and the real world is demonstrated in this film is truly a work of genius and of course not everyone can understand it, hence "the reviews".

There are people who create such intellectual master pieces but as you can see from comments that they are not appreciated by the gneral public and therefore we don't see such brilliant movies all the time. I think we have to wait for human intellect to evolve more before we can see such movies every week.

The movie is amazing!!! U have to know a lot about pholosophy to understand that it is impossible to show it in a movie, that is the reason for which people have to go and read the books instead of wathching a movie. This movie is not trying to teach u philosphy, that would be a sin, what it is trying to do is to show u easy deductions that some people could not ever get to know by themselves, and it does not mean that they are not going to be happy, it really would not matter. The movie is good, but U have to be familiar with a bit of many of the famous philosophers to get it. The missed parts that nobody talks about would come to u automaticly. The problem of the movie is that it is directed to certain people who can wathc it and understand it. It does not mean that they are better than the ones those think that the movie is boring and piece of nothing, it just means that they have laerned different kind of "stuff". the acting and de direction? who cares if the plot ifself is worth it to hear.

This is the worst film I have ever seen! The plot is ridiculous, most of the action is totally unbelievable, it is badly cast and baly acted. The ending is crass. Why on earth an actor of John Hurt's standing would accept involvement is beyond understanding. I have never seen such drivel. The philosophies of Wittgenstein and the Pythagoreans are inaccurately portrayed. The whole film is expensive rubbish.

Not quite as bad as Matthew Turner makes it out to be but still not amazing...
