True, the effects aren't all they could be, but I watch a film for the story and characters and this film was breath taking. Hypnotically amazing. The best soundtrack in years (maybe since Gladiator!) supported some incredible performances and the central relationship almost blew me out of my seat. After 4 viewings it just gets better. Unleash your inner teenager and surrender to the dark magic!

As a fan of the book, I knew the film could either be fantastic or horribly disappointing. I came into the cinema incredibly excited and hyper, and the packed theatre filled with teen girls just as excited only fuelled me on.
For a fan of the entire series you have to remember that the film ISN'T the book, and as long as you don't expect it to be exactly the same then I'm sure you will be thrilled.
Admittedly the visual effects were... terrible. But with the small budget I didn't expect much better, so hopefully with the increased budget for 'New Moon' we can expect better effects.
The core of the romance was still there, and the chemistry between Rob and Kristen was thrilling. The movie definitely works as a film on it own, but the book is (as always) better.
All in all the film was excellent, and expecting even more from 'New Moon' as long as Taylor Lautner stays playing Jacob because I believe he is probably the only actor who can play the happy go lucky character convincingly.
