Hello all!
We are planning to visit London in 2010. I am curious about fares of taxies. I mean can you please give me some examples if I am at LOndon Eye and I want to go Hyde Park how can I go and if I chose taxi how much does it cost?
I have some more questions I will ask later on.

Thanks

Naz

as a licensed london cabby your taxi fare would be around £12 depending on time of day and the traffic situation. A WARNING: DO NOT GET IN MINICABS OFF THE STREET- YOU WOULD BE BREAKING THE LAW AS WELL AS THE DRIVER AND THEY DO NOT HAVE PUBLIC HIRE INSURANCE SO IN AN ACCIDENT YOU WOULD NOT BE COVERED.

Hey You!
Just getting into a taxi will cost you £2.20 for the privilige as this is the minimum fare. It's all a bit complicated - there are three tariffs depending on the day (whether or not it's a weekend or public holiday) and the time of day, and the meter calculates the fare based on this tariff, the distance travelled and the time it takes. Be warned - even if you're going nowhere and you're stuck in one of London's notorius jams, the meter will keep going up. It's about a mile between Waterloo and Hyde Park Corner and the TFL site says this should take between 8-12 minutes and cost between £4.60-£8.20.
Hope that helps,
Sam
