A group of us girls booked a London break through super-breaks and we were booked into the Britannia hotel for 3 nights it only cost us £120 per person and that also included rail travel. After reading other peoples reviews i was concerned abotu the state of the hotel..However all i can say is you get what you pay for yes the decor was not the best and does need updating but overall for the price you are paying what do we really expect..I found the staff very helpull and friendly, ordered several taxis for us and provided extratowels whenn they were required...1 nuigth we were feeling abit peckish and we ordered some sandwiches as it was 2am,,the night piorter Kas was extremely helpull and made us a lovey platter of sandwhiches at a very reasonable price...Overal i had a great stay at the hamstead Brittania and woud return in the future

We stayed at this dreadful place recently and found the only way to cope was to laugh our way through it. The occasion was to celebrate my partner's birthday and I had booked tickets for a concert at the Round House nearby which was superb. The hotel is a disgrace, shabby, filthy rooms, layer upon layer of sealant upon rust in the bathroom, miserable mean breakfast, surly staff... the list is almost endless.

I had the most appalling stay at this ghastly hotel. The room I was given (number 321) was directly opposite a service facility elevator, which is utilised by the housekeeping and cleaning personnel whilst servicing the rooms. Being given this particular room meant that at 8am on Sunday morning I was abruptly woken by the crashing and clanging of this service elevator, which of course must have been the time period that the room service personnel began to operate.

Since this elevator produced such a loud excruciating, grinding and clunking sound with each and every extensive occasion that it was used, this meant that I was not only totally awoken in a terrible startled jolt, I also suffered awful sleep deprivation. However, the hotel is not really concerned, and further the head office are not concerned with good customer relations or spending money to make improvements, this is clear from the fact that the managing director has not bothered to reply.

I have noticed since staying at this hotel that many more people have been grossly disappointed and have written reviews to inform other people just how ghastly this hotel really is (it’s a shame I didn’t see these reviews prior to staying). Totally avoid this hotel, which should definitely not be a three star hotel in my opinion!

I to suffered a truely horrendous stay at a Britannia hotel and after speaking to the duty manager who did not care a jot I decided to contact the Managing Director of the Britannia goup. However after contacting head office I still cannot obtain his name, they would not disclose this information. I would like to make sure he receives my correspondence so I would be very grateful if anyone could let me know.

We also had a terrible stay at this hotel, and would not recommend it to anyone. The staff did care and the rooms where disguisting. The web site for the hotel looks attractive but do not be fooled. In my opinion this hotel does not deserve 1 star!
