Iconic Britpop band Blur are set to take to the stage tonight (July 3rd) for a live gig at London's Hyde Park.
The reformed group wowed some 55,000 fans at the outdoor venue in west London yesterday after headlining at Glastonbury last weekend.
Commenting on the inspiration behind hit song Parklife, frontman Damon Albarn told the crowds: "I had the idea for this song in this park, I used to live near Kensington Church Street and I used to watch pigeons and people and all that stuff."
Showing his appreciation for the response to the band's return to the UK music scene, he later added: "We feel really privileged to be able to do nothing for years then come back to this. It's incredible, really incredible."
Blur released six studio albums before the band members began to branch off to pursue other projects in 1999. In 2003, the band released Think Tank which topped the UK album chart.
