Gilberto Silva has revealed he is considering quitting Arsenal at the end of the season.
The Brazil midfielder lost the captaincy to William Gallas last summer and has made just seven league starts.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has overlooked the 31-year-old in favour of Mathieu Flamini.
Gilberto, who has a year remaining on his current contract, said he will leave if he fails to win back his first-team place.
"I will wait until the end of the season and then make my decision," Gilberto said.
"If a good opportunity comes along then I don't see any other option."
In November, the anchorman insisted he was happy to stay and fight for his place at the club.
The midfield partnership of Flamini and Cesc Fabregas has helped Arsenal reach the Champions League quarter-finals and go level on points with Manchester United at the top of the Premier League.
Also with the emergence of Abou Diaby as a possible long-term replacement, Gilberto said time is running out for him.
"There are only two months to go and I haven't played much," he added.
"I'm trying to adjust to the situation, but I confess it's not been easy."
Gilberto, who has 59 international caps, joined Arsenal from Atletico Mineiro after helping Brazil win the 2002 World Cup.
