Carvalho admits doubts over Chelsea future

Central defender Ricardo Carvalho has admitted to being unsure if he will still be a Chelsea player after next week's Champions League final.

The 29-year-old Portuguese, who is due to start in Moscow before he joins up with his international team-mates ahead of Euro 2008, is reportedly unsettled at the transfer speculation linking the Blues with several players.

Countryman Jose Bosingwa has already been unveiled as Chelsea's first signing of the summer from Carvalho's old club FC Porto.

And the arrival of more competition in defence may encourage the centre-back to seek pastures new.

"I don't know yet if I will stay but I have a contract," Carvalho explained.

"You have to be prepared because [at a club like Chelsea] someone goes, someone stays, someone comes."

Despite his refusal to confirm his future plans, Carvalho said his full focus is on the Champions League final where the Blues will look to gain revenge on rivals Manchester United, who pipped them to the Premier League title last week.

"Everyone has known each other here for a long time and we enjoy each other's company so we have to try to win this last game. It's important," he continued.

"We didn't win the Premier League so we have to get a Champions League medal.

"At Chelsea you have to win competitions and trophies. We have to win games, every game."
