Four teenage girls are due in court today charged with kidnapping and attacking a 16-year-old girl.

Sophia Austin, 18, two 17-year-old girls and a 15-year-old girl, all from east London, are due to appear at Stratford magistrates' court later today.

A group of six girls assaulted the teenage victim outside the Maryland railway station, on Leytonstone road, in Stratford on Sunday.

Police claim the 16-year-old girl was forcibly removed to an alleyway in Store Street where she was threatened with a knife and struck with a belt.

She was taken to an east London hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

Four females were arrested in connection with the incident and were charged with kidnap and GBH with intent.
