Manager Mark Hughes has claimed Manchester City's performance in their 6-0 demolition of Portsmouth in the Premier League was 'virtually flawless'.
The City boss watched on as his star-studded attacking ranks - including Brazilian pair Jo and Robinho, and a rejuvenated Shaun Wright-Phillips - ran rings around Pompey at Eastlands.
And afterwards, Hughes said he could find few areas for improvement among his forwards who he claimed barely put a foot wrong all afternoon.
"It was a fantastic day for everybody," he said.
"It was a difficult game on paper but I thought we were excellent in the first half.
"It was the best performance by one of my teams by a country mile. Portsmouth are a good side but they were not allowed to play their game."
Hughes said the performance - in front of the club's potential new Middle Eastern owners Abu Dhabi United Group – "set a standard" for the rest of the season.
"It was perfect," he said.
"We saw the right pass at the right time on many occasions."
