Foodies are expected to flock to London next month for the sixth annual Italian La Dolce Vita festive, held in Islington's Business Design Centre.

Sponsored by Giovanni Rana pasta, this year's four-day event, running from March 11th to 24th, will offer Londoners and visitors the chance to sample quality Italian food and wines and attend cookery demonstrations from some of the capital's top chefs.

One of the key attractions at the exhibition will be Marylebone's La Cucina Caldesi restaurant's lesson in using beer instead of wine in traditional Italian cooking.

Birra Moretti brand ambassador Katie Caldesi told BigHospitality.co.uk: "It's important for us to show that you can cook with beer like our ancestors did in recipes like beef and ale pie and beef stew cooked with beer.

"It's going to work really well; it used to work years ago and it's going to work now. We need to reintroduce cooking with beer to the UK."
