London architectural gems wobble

Londoners are expected to dress as tarts to hear the jelly rumble.

Trifles, cakes and other puddings are also welcome at the Architectural Design Competition showcase to be held at University College London accompanied by the sound of wobbling jellies.

The university's neo-classical quad will host an exhibition of vast jelly installations made by Bompass & Parr and designed by leading architects.

Shortlisted designs including a jelly in the shape of the Millennium Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral and the Eden Project will be on display at the event, where one winner will be named.

The winner will be the jelly that out does the other on "innovation, aesthetics and 'wobble factor'".

Money raised from selling the triumphant wobbly architectural icon will go to raise funds for relief organisation Article 25.

The competition, which will take place tomorrow (Friday July 4th) is part of a series of events across London which are part of the London Festival of Architecture running until July 20th.
