With schools across London closed for the summer break, many of the city's children will be flocking to the London Science Museum for some extra-curricular educational fun, the Press Association reports.
Emotibots is an interactive event that features a robot with emotional responses. Created by scientists at the University of the West of England in Bristol, Heart Robot reveals interesting differences in the psychology of children.
"Heart Robot looks like a cross between ET and Gollum and is about the size of a small child. He's half robot, half puppet. You move him around by hand, but he has innate responses that appear emotional," event coordinator Holly Cave told the Press Association.
"Different children react to him very differently. They either want to hug and cuddle him, and look after him like a doll or baby, or they just want to scare him."
The Science Museum recently announced two new artists in residence, a writer and dancer, to hold workshops and conduct solo projects drawing inspiration from the museum's resources.
