Ronnie O'Sullivan, the newly-crown UK snooker champion, has overtaken Shaun Murphy to become the world's new number one player.
The Rocket captured his fourth UK crown on Sunday, 14 years after he won the tournament as a 17-year-old for his first major ranking title.
And his victory at the weekend, a 10-2 triumph over Scotland's Stephen Maguire, catapulted him above Murphy to the top spot in the world rankings.
"I played great, I got into a rhythm," O'Sullivan said after the final.
"I think I've stumbled on a consistency that I haven't felt for about 14 years.
"Snooker is about showtime to me, it's all about the big matches."
Murphy dropped to third overall after being knocked out in the semi-finals by Maguire, who moved above him into second place.
Former number one John Higgins remains fourth after being knocked out of the competition in the first round, while Mark Selby - who lost to O'Sullivan in the semi-finals to a final-frame maximum break - moves up two spots to fifth.
Neil Robertson, Peter Ebdon, Ding Junhui, Graeme Dott and Stephen Hendry round out the top ten, while former number one Ken Doherty - who was fourth in the last rankings list - drops to 16th.
