Pair guilty over 'mobile phone' murder

Two teenagers have been found guilty of stabbing a 15-year-old boy to death in a block of flats in south London.

Damien Solowabe, 18, and Tobi Peters, 17, stabbed Lyle Tullock 13 times at the property in Elephant and Castle during a row over a mobile phone in May.

Lyle's body was discovered in a stairwell in Newall House, Harper Road, in the early hours of Saturday May 3rd.

His death came just hours after Boris Johnson celebrated his victory in the London mayoral elections.

Today Solowabe, from Gypsy Hill, and Peters, of Deptford, were found guilty of murder today and are due to be sentenced next Wednesday.

The pair attacked Lyle after mistaking blaming him when Solowabe's phone went missing at a party.

Earlier that night, Solowabe had confronted Lyle after a female companion had hugged him.

His father Tony Lee said Lyle had "his young life taken away by those more worried about their reputation than the life of another".

The judge in the case today lifted a court order banning the identification of Peters and said the defendants faced life sentences.
