Portsmouth manager Harry Rednkapp was left incensed by the abuse he suffered from Aston Villa fans today.
Although his team claimed a brilliant 3-1 win, Redkanpp was far from pleased after the game. He was even seen during the game exchanging words with some Villa fans behind his dug-out.
"You've got people saying stuff behind you with little kids shouting filth. I didn't bring my kids up to talk like that," said a furious Redknapp. "Do we have to keep standing there and accepting that?
"It didn't happen when I went with my dad to watch Arsenal play every Saturday. There was none of this sort on nonsense going on."
Redknapp, whose son Jamie played for Liverpool and England, added: "What hurts me the most is when I see someone going at it, when they have got their little son by their side.
"He can talk how he wants to me but doing it in front of his lad and making filthy gestures just stinks. Maybe it is a reflection on society."
On a brighter note for the Pompey manager, his team claimed their sixth straight away win and climbed to fifth in the table.
"That was a terrific performance," said Redknapp. "We've played well again today.
"To come to a good side like Villa and do what we did today was magnificent. It's one of the most difficult places to come. Villa are a very good team."
Portsmouth have demonstrated a run of good consistent football and are now only goal difference away from the Champions League qualification places.
