Sly Stallone in London for premiere

News image
An aging but energetic Sylvester Stallone is set to take to the red carpet tonight to promote his latest Rambo film.

The 61-year-old Stallone, who is reprising the role of commando John Rambo, is expected to attend the premiere of the film entitled simply Rambo in London's Leicester Square.

Stallone first brought Rambo's bloodthirsty justice to the screen in 1982 in First Blood and it has been 20 years since the machine-gun wielding warrior took to the screen.

In the latest instalment Rambo goes into Burma instead of Afghanistan, as in previous films, because Stallone considered it inappropriate considering the fact that real soldiers are risking their lives in the war there.

The star, who reprised his role as boxer Rocky Balboa in 2006, has said that he still feels fresh.

Stallone said: "I feel like I'm 20 again - but with arthritis."

He added: "I try to ignore the scepticism about my age and just get on with making films. The stunts in Rambo were pretty hard, but I still did all but one of them by myself."
