Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that defender Anthony Gardner has joined Hull City until January on loan.
The former England centre-back had been linked with a permanent transfer to the KC Stadium but the two clubs could not agree a fee.
A statement on the Spurs website said: "The club can announce that we have reached agreement for the loan of Anthony Gardner to Hull City."
Gardner, 27, was loaned out to Everton last year but failed to make an appearance for the Toffees.
Signed from Port Vale in 2000, the centre-back played 144 times for Spurs, scoring three goals and earning his solitary England cap in the process.
Hull manager Phil Brown has already signed five players as he bids to assemble a squad capable of making the step up to the Premier League.
Brazilian midfielder Geovanni and Dutch enforcer George Boateng are the pick of the signings, while Peter Halmosi, Tony Warner, Bernard Mendy and Craig Fagan have all also joined.
