Three teenagers have been charged with manslaughter following the death of Mary Fox, who was killed when a firework was put through her letterbox.
Ms Fox, a mother of nine, helped her 17-year-old son Raum escape the fire believed caused by the firework, before returning into the home for her cat, reports say.
The 59-yeard-old, from Bodmin, Cornwall, died in the fire last Thursday. Last night police confirmed an 18-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys have been charged with manslaughter and will appear at Bodmin magistrates' court later today.
The family of Ms Fox released a statement to thank everybody for their support and to pay tribute to their beloved mother.
The statement read: "We would like to thank everybody for their support, kindness and sympathy at this very difficult time. The senseless death of our mum has shocked us, particularly how she died.
"She was a resourceful person who would find a use for everything. She enjoyed listening to the radio and she liked to read. She was a supporter of many charities.
"She was a special and unique person and we all miss her dearly."
