My husband took me to the brasserie at 1 Lombard Street to celebrate our anniversary and he couldn't have chosen a better place. For a start, it wasn't stuffy or formal, which was nice and refreshing and meant we could really relax and enjoy ourselves. I started with an amazing crab, prawn and avocado salad with a lovely bloody mary sorbet which added a nice kick, and my husband was equally impressed with his carpaccio of smoked haddock. My grilled sea bass which followed was perfectly cooked and my husband's roast lamb chump was declared a triumph. We were too full for puddings but decided to finish up at the bar with a glass each of port.
From beginning to end, our evening cannot be faulted - we'll definitely be going back before our next anniversary!
My husband and I had the nine course meal with wine, the food was delicious, definetly worth trying!!
In terms of other aspects, we were not impressed with the maitre de and the sommelier, who make up for our disappointment with their service was the French waiter which was very friendly and always happy to talk about the food you are being served.
The deco is quite old fashion.
1 Lombard Street is quite a good venue for a few after work drinks but I wouldn’t head there for a night out with friends. They do nice bar food but it’s a bit expensive for what it is, don’t go to 1 Lombard Street for a cheap bite to eat!
The interior of 1 Lombard Street is so magnificent, it has to be seen to be believed! I love the cocktails at 1 Lombard Street too, very elegant and sophisticated.
