1707 Winebar is great! If you're in Fortnum and Mason and you like your wine then try this place as they allow you to sample many of the wines on sale. It gives you a great excuse to get away from the wife for an hour or two - 'I simply must try before I buy Geraldine - I'll see you in an hour'. She'll return to find you drunk and indecisive to which you should respond with 'Well, we'll have to come back again next week'. I've been doing this for weeks and it's still working. Bravo to the 1707 Winebar!

It's such a shame the 1707 Wine Bar closes at the same time as the shop as it would be an amazing place to visit for dinner! The snack type food is sublime - I had the smoked eel with brandade and horseradish which was one of the nicest things I have ever eaten. All the ingredients are clearly of the highest quality and make everything taste so good. I urge you to go to 1707 as you will not be disappointed. Oh, just one more thing, this place has a sensational wine list just as long as you aren't daunted by its huge length.
