Nice bar - but again, shame about the doorman and the discrimination! I had an awful experience here the last two Saturday nights with the same doorman. 2 Saturdays ago I looked to enter the bar with my boyfriend and my straight housemates, a guy and a girl. I was told that we (my boyfriend and I - a gay couple) that we could only enter if there was 'no cuddling inside eh?' - the doorman asked if we were a couple in a completely offensive manner. The doorman was so offensive we were all taken aback by his blatant discrimination. My boyfriend and I weren't touching each other or being in any way 'touchy feely' so to be told we could only enter if we didn't cuddle was way out of line. The same doorman this week wouldn't let me in (with my straight female friend and 2 straight male friends) - he said I 'knew why' he wouldn't let me in. This man clearly has a problem and so does 64th and Social for keeping him in employment. For a bar that is on Clapham High Street - two doors down from a gay bar and positioned in a large gay population area this is an absurd, outdated and generally disgusting policy to employ. The manager tried to explain that this wasn't the bar's 'policy' - but, if you are to discriminate against people, gay, straight or whatever they may be, then I'm afraid that that is indeed their policy. I used to think this was a great bar - no longer, they shan't receive my custom in future - and I urge anyone else not to frequent this bar until they re-think their door policy/staff. A real shame.

I can not apologize enough for this very bad experience. The doorman involved is no longer working for us. I do realize this maybe a little late and should never of happened to start with. I totally understand if you would never want to come back, but I do hope no one else will have to feel humiliated or discriminated against in the future. We take all complaints very seriously as we are here to serve you as customers and with out you, where would we be... - Report

A nice little bar with one of the worst bouncers I've ever encountered! The manangement should really do something about him... we came in a group of 6 girls and he tried to chat each of us up whilst we were smoking outside and then made some really crude remarks!! Then when my friends (guys) turned up, he wouldn't let them in for no reason apart from that they weren't with girls, but they were with us!!! ...the bouncer needs to learn to chill out and leave girls alone. Apart from that, a lovely place!

I am awfully sorry that your night was ruined in this way, and I am sure the doorstaff on the night did not mean to cause any offence. We do employee a company to run our security and some times we do not always have the same doormen... I have spoken with the security, and they have noted the complaint you have made and will do there best not to let this happen again.

Many Thanks

Brilliant night spent here and if you fancy a bit of celeb-spotting without the inflated club prices, it's worth checking out.
