My boyfriend and I visited The Gun the other week and were pleasantly surprised by the summer barbeque, A Grelha.
After having a few sangrias by the Thames and tasting the delicious croquettes and seafood we really felt as if we were on vacation.
It’s a nice escape from the hectic London scene! We will definitely be coming back!Liz
Myself & 4 friends took part in the quiz this week at A Grelha (reportedly London's first outdoor!) and we had a ball!
Quiz was great fun and excellent value, 2 quid in and a shot at £100 prize - oh and there was a load of quickfire questions where you could win a free drink - which we did hoorah!
Food was great too, piri piri chicken which is an absolute winner and way too many lovely draught Super Bock.
Night was great, definitely going back!

What a hidden gem! You sit just on the Thames whilst they BBQ Portuguese food just in front of you - yum yum yum!!
I had Chicken Piri-piri and garlic and chilli prawns, both where excellent!
My boyfriend had the lamb kebab (which came on a Portuguese hanging stand thing – nice touch) This is must visit place on a sunny day.
After leaving the DLR station and walking to the Gun, we were hot and thirsty!
The Gun sign had a big cannon ball hole through it, nice touch.
We were going to the gym, then down to the market so decided to have a non alcoholic drink, big mistake!
Soda and lime, he started pouring beer?! Soda and lime - puzzled looks, then a straight no?!
Ok lets try some lemonade, hmmm he then disappears of for 5 minutes, and returns to with a couple of jugs, things might be improving!
No such luck, proceeds to do that McDonald's trick of filling the pint glass with ice, and pours the lemonade, meaning I am getting third of a glass of lemonade, proceeds to charge me £3 for a glass of ice, with lemonade that wasn't freshly made, just your regular supermarket sugary lemonade!
£3! Is his father a politicians! Then the Manager comes over, and tries to justify this by saying the beer is £3.50, not sure what that has to do with the price ice, and a drop of cheap!
Lemonade! As you can guess we didn't bother trying the food, and wont be in the future either
I've been going to The Gun for a while now and I love the place. A Grehla looks like a superb addition to it - our very own outside terrace with barbecue?! Bring on the summer! No really, bring it on. Please.
