You are guaranteed to feel like a VIP at a discount at this exclusive and popular bar in the trendy East Central area. The term eat, drink and be merry must have been created with Abacus in mind.

The Venue
Located on Cornhill, Abacus is easily accessible, seconds away from Bank tube station. As you make your entrance to the first floor, prepare to be dazzled. With beautiful contemporary decor, soft lighting and plasma-screen TVs displaying the best in up-to-date music videos throughout, you will have no problems achieving instant comfort. Modern luxurious leather chairs and sofas and solid oak wood tables compliment the trendy venue. On the first floor, the bar is invitingly stylish complete with leather stools. A wide variety of drinks tease you as they peek out from their glass confines. You will also find a comfy dining area, perfect for an afternoon snack or an evening meal. The lower lounge consists of a second bar as well as more modern tables and stools. In addition, it includes a cosy corner complete with deliciously comfortable leather sofas perfect for you to lounge in style. And just around the corner is the dancefloor - with its futuristic tables and full-length, wall-to-wall mirrors, it can only be described as gorgeous!

The Atmosphere
The cool, contemporary and classy feel of the bar is not only achieved by its decor. The stylish and strapping bouncers make sure that the customers also contribute to this as they enforce the dress policy at the doors. Avoid trainers, tracksuits and ripped denim and you’ll be fine. Abacus is predominantly popular with business-types of all ages and ideal for those much-needed, post-work drinks. That said, it’s also a great place for a hot date, a good ol’ catch-up with your best mate, or a fun night out with friends. People are generally very happy and the same can be said for the barstaff who are always ready with a drink and a smile. Great service for an equally great bar.

The Food
The extensive food menu at Abacus is very impressive and has something for everyone serving lunch and dinner. From chunky chips to nibble on for £2 to sharers complete with potato wedges, pizza slices, chicken fillets, spring rolls and more all for £12.95, to full-on meals like char-grilled steak with potatoes, rocket and watercress salad and horseradish mayonnaise, even the most discerning of palates with the smallest of bank balances will be sufficiently satisfied.

The Drink
To be able to drink responsibly is truly a virtue, and Abacus makes it anything but easy with their ample range of surprisingly low-priced potions. A recommended Rose is the Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, Ochagavia. A glass of this deliciously dry and fruity wine with refreshing hints of strawberry will cost you an impressive £3.95 and £14.95 for a bottle. Abacus is cocktail heaven to the stylish and fun drinker. From the classic cosmopolitan, with Absolut citron and bursting with lime and cranberry juice, to the outrageous Rocktail, with Smirnoff vodka and a tangy edge courtesy of raspberry juice puree, grenadine and lime juice, you’re sure to be impressed by prices as tasty as £5.95. And the best thing is, this is the most you will have to cough up for a cocktail! There is even a happy hour – which is actually more like a happy-two-hours – where selected items are available for even less.

The Last Word
Contemporary style plus great value food and drink equals Abacus – with the promise of a truly enjoyable time in The City.
