I agree with some of the other comments, that the ice bar was just a small freezer thing.
Seating wasn't great, was quite small and crowded. The drinks were so overpriced for what they were, i had two and gave them to my friends cos they were horrible.
We got there and the staff were so lovely, they managed to quickly squeeze us into a slot, which meant we only had 30 Min's in there opposed to the 40 Min's, but that didn't really make much of a difference.
Once your in there, that's it, it got quite boring after a while but the time did fly by.Good experience, but wouldn't do it again.
We were a group of 11 and went in on time. The ice bar is a unigue experience but 40 mins is long enough as once you've seen it well thats it!! The bar staff were quite grumpy both in the ice bar and the normal bar but doesn't make any difference to the experience. Had a good time but once you've been you won't need to go again! Once out the warm martini cocktails warm you up a treat- delicious but bit pricey (£7.50)
After booking the Below Zero restuarant follwed by a premium slot in the ice-bar, me and my husband came away truly disappointed. We booked our meal for 6pm but after my husband managed to speak to the restaurant manager we were eventually seated at 6.40pm. We were then served what i can only drscribe as an express meal. The food wasn't mindblowing as we had expected and there was no time between courses to even catch your breath. After which we were left sat at our table until we went to search out one of the restaurant staff who was supposed to be escorting us up to our slot in the ice bar. At 8.15pm we were finally ushered upstairs for what was supposed to be our 40 minute 8.00pm premium slot in the ice bar. In the ice bar there were free unlimited drinks during the premium slot. There was also a photographer present snapping the crowd in and around the ice carvings. We had 3 photo's taken and had 3 shots of vodka. We were then told that the slot was up and that we had to leave. I was absolutely furiouse as not only had the total sum of our 2 hours there cost us just over £250, we hadn't even had the full 40 minutes in the ice bar. We complained to the manager and gave him our reservation confirmation as proof of timings and he said that he would get back to us the next day. He hasn't contacted us with their response. Our resonse to the ice bar is that it is a complete disorganised rip off and in future i will spend £250 on something more worth while.PS To top it all, our photo's from that evening have never appeared on the web site!!!!!!!
I found this place cold, claustrophbic and expensive. But, in terms of something different, it doesn't really get any more 'out there' than this. Experience this once.
I had mixed feelings about the icebar. While the manager and cocktail waitress were extremely nice and helpful, the man taking tickets at the door was a total ass to us. On a Monday, tickets are £12. He charged us £15 (using some story about needing a reservation) and would have gotten away with it, had I not seen a flyer and asked my new buddy, the manager, about the prices. When the manager asked the guy at the door, he initially denied it, but had to refund us when he realized that he wasn't getting away with it.
It was a fun atmosphere inside, though a bit of a one-time thing. Amythest Twist was delicious and we didn't have any problem with the bartenders, who were fun and dancing around behind the bar. As long as you have the gloves on, there's really no difference between holding their drinks or a normal one; however, hold on to your cup or it's £4 for a new one, on top of the £6 charge per drink.
I would go back with out-of-town friends, but it's not really the sort of place that you frequent.
This place was fab. I cant believe that people are moaning that it is cold and small. Its an ICE BAR!!! what did u expect? its all in the name. I had a great time here, great drinks, great novelty value, great staff, and great music. I would definately go back
Small and expensive but a lot of fun and a great novelty. You've got to go here at least once. The drinks are the size of a shot but I liked drinking from a hollowed out block of ice.
When we went, music was great but everyone was standing around and posing for photo's - the perfect opportunity to dance. An hours long enough as it does get quite cold despite the coats provided. If you go, bring a camera.
If you're thinking of going to the Ice bar for a night out with a difference then don't bother - if you're looking for a night out inside something akin to a Sainsbury's freezer lorry this would be the perfect place!!
After paying 15 quid to get in, I was expecting an 'Ice Bar' maybe with a few ice sculptures, not a small freezer compartment with a few blocks of ice for seats. I have never written a review of a bar before but after paying to get in and then having to pay a tenner for a shot I thought why not.
Overall a total and utter rip off, why bother when there are so many good bars to go to!!
