Overpriced tourist gimmick with very rude offensive staff... not a good choice...don't bother.. save yourself the £16 entry fee and get a pizza!
Did the 40 minute champagne cocktail session on a Friday night. The champagne might have been cheap (I couldnt tell), but it tasted fab from an Ice glass. The other cocktail we had was nice too. I must be easily amused after reading some of these reviews........I thought it was brillant !! It might only be a room of ice, but it was clever and different, would go again and would recommend. There were 4 of us and we ALL agreed, even Mother. Lots of smiling faces from everyone thae was in there. Would also say get there early and have few of the happy hour cocktails outside.........yum yum !!
I received the worst service from one of the staff who was nothing but sarcastic and nasty to us every time we spoke to him. To the point were we felt we couldn't order another drink from him cause his comments were very rude. I understood he could have been having a bad day and he may have been cold but for £16 a head for a 45min stay I expected more. He was not only rude to me and my 5 friends but other people who we met at the bar said the exact same thing, this was literally all we spoke about when we was in there. The free drink is the size of two shot glasses and you can only choose from a few cocktails. The venue is a lot smaller than I thought it would be however it is so nicely decorated with lights behind the glass. It is quite fun for about 10 mins while your taking photos but after that you have nothing to do cause the music is the same the whole way through you can't dance and defo can not sit down on the ice seats for long so we fount our selves standing around literally waiting for the time to go down because we felt abused by the staff so we were unable to buy another drink. It would have ruined our mood.
On a postitive note about this place is that the upstairs area is beautiful. So nicely decorated and the outside area is lovely too. If it wasnt for the sarcastic and nasty comments from the staff I probably wouldnt have made a review but the fact we received such service I felt the need to warn people before the go in. It is an experience saying you went to an all Ice bar but if our looking for a nice friendly place to drink and dance this is certainl not the place to be.
Went on Saturday 31/8/2010, what a good money spinner, a one off trip not to be repeated. Just a coldish self made room, music was crap, stayed the full 40 mins just to see if it got any better, could not wait for the time slot to finish.
Went with a group of girls as part of a hen weekend. We arrived in good time and were asked to wait in the upstairs bar and they then allowed multiple other groups through and just ignored us.
Once inside the Ice bar the drinks were not appealing yop with vodka comes to mind. After the initial 'wow' factor it goes down hill from there.
The room/ bar itself is very disappointing and you soon become bored. We then proceeded to have a meal after in the downstairs restaurant.
The food was nice once they eventually managed to serve it. But the service was very poor, drinks took over 45minutes to come and add on another 30 minutes after that for food.
We asked the staff multiple times to reduce the air con but it actually got colder and we were informed it was not the air con but a "breeze"?!
Generally the staff were not welcoming we seemed to be an inconvenience and got scowled at for asking for something eg. a drink!
I am glad to have tried it but it is extremely over priced for the experience and service, generally a let down.
Agree with the other reviews. Worth going, but wouldn't go again. Looks better in the pictures than in actual life.
Also, I didn't think it was THAT cold in there either - I had sandals on and my feet weren't cold, so you don't need to take your socks!!
Went to Sat night 8pm Premium slot (£23 includes complimentary drinks). Queued for capes and gloves (gloves were soaking wet!) and so didnt get in ice bar until after 8pm.
Only one barman serving, so nearly 8 minutes gone before we got our first drink. Tip! Worth looking at drinks menu BEFORE you go in so you can decide what you want to order rather than wasting valuable (and expensive) time at the bar choosing.
We managed to have 3 drinks (try as many different ones as you can) but was disappointed to hear the barman shout at 5 minutes before the end that he was stopping serving and no more drinks would be served - despite us at the bar, empty glasses all ready!
No one told us that happens! So in all, we probably got 25 minutes in there, out of the 40 minutes that's advertised.
Like I've said, worth a visit, glad we went, but I would not rush back.
I agree with some of the other comments, that the ice bar was just a small freezer thing.
Seating wasn't great, was quite small and crowded. The drinks were so overpriced for what they were, i had two and gave them to my friends cos they were horrible.
We got there and the staff were so lovely, they managed to quickly squeeze us into a slot, which meant we only had 30 Min's in there opposed to the 40 Min's, but that didn't really make much of a difference.
Once your in there, that's it, it got quite boring after a while but the time did fly by.Good experience, but wouldn't do it again.
We were a group of 11 and went in on time. The ice bar is a unigue experience but 40 mins is long enough as once you've seen it well thats it!! The bar staff were quite grumpy both in the ice bar and the normal bar but doesn't make any difference to the experience. Had a good time but once you've been you won't need to go again! Once out the warm martini cocktails warm you up a treat- delicious but bit pricey (£7.50)
