we went last night (august 20) having had a lovely meal many years ago. pretty empty which we thought was strange, half way through the meal a mouse ran across the floor and kept running across for rest of night. my friend saw a different coloured mouse in the hall. it is a lovely restaurant, but, the management should attend to this urgent problem. it seemed from the duty manager that they were already aware of the problem. our bill was halved and bottle of wine added in for free, but i will not be returning for a while, but hope they do solve their mice infestation soon!
Admiralty was massively disappointing! There was no linen on the tables, the portions were small, the food was poor, the main course was at best a poor amatuer standard, and only one of us wanted water, but a huge bottle was brought to the table already open.
To add insult to injury the bill came to much more than expected and we realised afterwards that we had been considerably overcharged. My opinion is, don't bother with Admiralty!
Very posh - we’re talking high ceilings, smart clothes, and best table manners at the Admiralty. The food was a bit rich for my taste – plenty of butter, bacon, and potatoes – and the prices weren’t cheap, but it was nicely presented and the staff were polite. The Admiralty is best for a special occasion.
After having heard so many good things about the restaurant from friends, I went to have dinner at Admiralty with my other half. We got a really good table and our waiter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He explained the menu really well which always helps. I had the mushroom tagliatelle and lemon sole which both tasted so good and the presentation was brilliant too. I would highly recommend Admiralty and to vegetarians too!
The Admiralty is slightly hidden away and appears quite quiet as a result. The food however is excellent, which should be expected from the high prices. I would recommend the Admiralty as a pleasant place to dine out.
I was disappointed after having planned to dine at the Admiralty to celebrate a special occasion.
I had read many very good reviews, including the vegetarian choices. So I was surprised to find that the only vegetarian main course on the menu was essentially baked potato with cheese, for £15.
I was told that the vegetarian menu had been discontinued and that the kitchen was unable to offer alternatives.
On realising we were unable to dine we asked for our drinks bill and were a little annoyed to have also been charged for a bottle of water we were to have with our meal and that we had been charged for (bad) service.
I found the atmosphere rather stuffy and our waiter dismissive.
I would advise other vegetarian diners to go elsewhere, as you won't find choice or flexibility here.
