All Bar One, it’s like Marmite – you either love it or hate it. For those who can look past the chain bar visage of this Wimbledon branch of the popular chain might actually find that this is one of the better examples of this brand getting it right.

The Venue
This sophisticated bar is part of the famous love-it-or-hate-it nationwide chain, and offers no exception to the typical All Bar One decor.

A light and airy space with lots of natural wood on show doesn’t ignore the historical footprint that this building once was in bygone days: large original sash windows and beautiful wrought iron pillars support the contrasting industrial chic fans and air conditioning units on the high ceiling. There are plenty of seating areas to choose from with chairs, stools and comfortable leather benches; so whether you’re a couple or a group there will be something suitable for your requirements. Blackboards are placed in strategic places to inform you of the sumptuous food available, and behind the well stocked bar attractive staff are available to serve you.

The Atmosphere
With modern jazz music playing, a warm and friendly atmosphere welcomes you into this branch of All Bar One. With a busy lunchtime and after dark clientele there is a buzzy feeling that is synominous with big renovated establishments such as this.

The Food
The food menu at All Bar One is pretty ubiquitous across the chain, offering various European dishes and homemade burgers with a carb free option – something Dr Atkins would have approved of! All the chicken is Red Tractor Approved and an enticing choice of grilled skewers, salad or tapas are on offer for an original take on bar food.

The Drink
As expected, there are a vast array of wines available; these are arranged into sub headings, Classic, Bold and Distinctive with a brief outline of each category. All wines are available by the glass or the bottle and are reasonably priced.

All Bar One is well known for its excellent range of Continental lagers, including such offerings as Sagres, Staropramen, Peroni, and Erdinger on draught and bottles like Estrella, Kasteel Cru Bierre Blonde and Leffe Blonde in bottles, and this branch is no exception.

The Last Word
With a well stocked bar, delicious menu and tasteful interior design, there is little wonder the All Bar One chain has been so successful, and this Wimbledon branch is one of the better examples of where they get it right.
