Simple, easy, guaranteed. All Bar One - what you see is what you get. There are no surprises at this branch of the popular chain, just the usual… But that’s not a bad thing.

The Venue
If you’re expecting something a bit special from The Strand’s All Bar One offering then you’ll be disappointed. That said, if you enjoy what the ABO chain has to offer then you’ll be more than satisfied.

A reasonably large venue, this bar goes where all other ABO bars have gone before. Neutral colours, plenty of wood, blackboards proclaiming the latest menu offerings and choicest drinks, and bottles of wine literally everywhere you look. It’s comfortable, modern and easy on the eye. The main draw to this particular branch is the large windows looking out onto one of the most beautiful locations in Central London - The Strand end of Covent Garden.

The Atmosphere
All Bar One tends to attract a certain type of person: professional ‘suits’ who are out to unwind and have a gossip about the secretary’s latest antics. It’s the same here, although it’s a welcome reprieve from the hundreds of bars and pubs in the area filled to the brim with tourists.

Come in the post-work peak timeslot and you’ll be disappointed if you’re after a seat. Busy with thirsty office workers you’ll soon be engrossed in the air of wanting to down plenty of wine and throw of the troubles of the day. And with a friendly and efficient staff, it’ll be easy.

The Drink
This is as good a bar as any if you’re after an easy drink that’s not a challenge to the senses. Good for beer and wine, nobody should go home disappointed. Alongside the usual draught beers, Birra Moretti and Paulaner are particularly nice additions for lager lovers and at around £3 a pint, it’s extremely reasonable - especially for such a good central location.

For wine lovers, there’s a better than normal choice of wines - with house varieties bordering on cheap and not tasting like vinegar. This, along with all the usual spirits and mixers, means that the tired lawyers from nearby Holborn can while away the hours with drunken abandon.

The Last Word
Another paint be numbers wine bar from the chain made popular by thirsty office workers. There’s nothing wrong with it - it won’t excite the senses but then who goes to All Bar One for a unique drinking experience?
