As with everything in Richmond, this All Bar One is more sophisticated than many others, based in an attractive building and with an altogether different clientele.

The Venue
The exterior of this All Bar One is what sets it apart from many. Large windows peer out of an old, rust-red brick building along with streams of creeping greenery giving it the air of country tavern, rather than town bar.

Inside, all the usual All Bar One touches are there. Blackboards declaring the menu of the day and the top wines, wooden bench-style elongated picnic tables and a generally clean, unassuming set of neutral colours. Nothing earth shattering, but an ideal place to go to enjoy a quiet Chardonnay - especially in the summer.

The Atmosphere
This All Bar One serves the purpose of being a stop-gap. With so many great bars in a relatively small space, and the river a short walk away, this is a convenient place to come and have a drink in a pleasant setting on the walk from the station to the water. The hum is loud but not headache-inducing and the staff are efficient and fairly helpful.

The Drink
With beers on draught costing around £3.50 a pint, reasonable for this affluent area, and a decent selection of wines - reds, whites and roses for any taste - this All Bar One delivers what it promises. It’s simple, it’s easy but it’s worth the money and will get you merrily on your way to a delightful evening by the river.

The Last Word
This bar is the typical All Bar One chameleon - it blends in perfectly with its environs. There’s nothing remarkable about it, it’s just a decent offering from the ever expanding chain.
