You’ll notice this building from the Byward Street and Lower Thames Street junction - it’ll be boldly staring at you from the corner it sits on, beckoning you in.

The Venue
Walk through the immensely tall heavy doors of this All Bar One and you’ll step into the bright sand coloured bar. The immediate impression is how bright everything is: the white walls, golden yellow wooden floors and brass surfaces reflect the abundance of natural light that comes beaming in through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows.

It’s all very clean inside and the tables are well spaced out, meaning you gain an incredible sense of space even when you’re sitting down. This is helped by the high ceilings that hold the air conditioning unit, which keep the air circulating. Many of the tables and chairs are suitable for those who want to dine whilst three or four high tables are good for those who have come in for a quick drink.

The bar is very bright with shelves of wine stretching right up to the ceiling. To reach these, a ladder on wheels is used to slide across the floor to the relevant shelf. Walk round the bar and you’ll come across a large dining area which is very popular in the evenings with its softer lighting.

The Atmosphere
The staff the this All Bar One are very efficient and there is a clear hierarchical order within the team. If you walk in on a quiet day someone will see that you’re OK and enquire as to what you’d like to drink. Take a seat and you’ll be offered a menu as table service is the order of the day here, which is very nice. Service with a smile is a great policy so you’ll be able to kick back and relax without having to worry about going to the bar.

The Drink
Serving coffees, teas and juices to those not in the mood for alcohol and an array of European lagers (Amstel, Peroni, Heineken, Strapopramen, Paulaner, Jupiter Blue and Schneider Wesse) and wines to those who are in the mood. They also serve London Pride, Guinness and Leffe. The wine selection is something quite special and the bottles are all available to see with their prices and country of origin written in chalk on each shelf.

The Last Word
All Bar One offers a great selection of wine and European lagers. It’s very spacious and the service is extremely efficient. A great bar for those looking for an after work drinking den.
