Totally awful service. The waitress ( who's English was not very good) did not write my order down but commited it to memory. When my breakfast arrived I received sausages which I did not order from the create your own menu. When I mentioned it to her she argued with me saying that I did order them. I got her to take them away and not charge me for them. When the bill arrived I had been charged for them and I had to ask for the bill to be re-calculated.

The cecor is shaby and horrible. The tables look like school desks which are sticky to the touch and painted black. There were graffiti carvings into my table which could be a haven for germs to get into.
I was totally disgusted by the service and will never go there again.

AVOID !
i had been attracted by a stack of oranges i had seen through the window. i ordered a "fresh orange juice", a croissant and a danish, for £6. I think it is unacceptable to call to call something fresh juice on the menu when there is obviously at least 75% water added (plus ice cubes), and the thing was fresh 3 days ago. Gave me the tourista. Pastries were a day off as well. Awful place.

What a dump this place has become.
There seems to be new management here. Service is lousy. I had a bottle of wine with my girl and it cost £17.50. I can get the exact same bottle for 2 for £5.00 at my local. I don't mind paying but it should be half decent. The toilets stink and the floor looks like it's never been cleaned.
The owner was always known to be tight but it seems greed has got the best of him.
Never again, unless smashed with no where else to go.

gone waaaaay downhill. Was a really great spot. specially for late drink. Went to Wilmngton Arms the other night as it has re-opened and looks far cooler than this place. I've given up on this place. £7.00 a mohito, and not even made well, service sucks as place is understaffed. Food has gone up, only in price and qualiy has gone down.
Disappointed. You've lost another old customer folks.
well done - Report

Als Bar is a really cool place to hang out. Loads of sofas and they serve great pub grub in there - all day breakfasts, burgers etc.

Really affordable with plenty of drinks to choose from too. Love hanging out with my friends at Als Bar.

Al's Bar has a real studenty feel - flyers on the wall, groovy music, tea lights everywhere. Very relaxed and unpretentious. Also, so you know, it has just been used as a location for the new Bridget Jones...
