Rum Cocktails are very much en vogue this summer, and the best place to go for one (or several!) is The Artesian Bar. The luscious drinks match the luscious lilac/purple interior and I was just gutted I hadn't worn my purple paisley dress and butterfly accessories - because then I would have completely blended in.

Artesian is genuinely sublime. The drinks are good, yes, though perhaps a little pricey but it's the decor here that makes you feel so pampered. I don't know if it's the softness of the purple but it really is deeply seductive and really makes you want to return. I'm even a little worried that after only three visits I may be hooked on Artesian! Not sure if my purse can extend to that though, I'll have to seek out a playboy there!

I just had some light bar snacks from Artesian but they were something very, very special - I almost felt guilty. The only problem I did have was with Artesian's decor - it's supposed to be a big selling point but it looked to me (admittedly a design philistine) like Louis XIV and Fu Manchu couldn't come to a compromise. Don't attack me, I just thought it looked weird - I hate contrived design anyway.
