Great range of wines and the owner is fun and incredibly knowledgeable. Also does great wine tasting evenings which I've been to a couple of times.
My husband and I had visited this wine bar 3 times over the last month and were very impressed with the range and quality of wine and the prices,so last Sunday we decided to try the food, what a disappointment !.We arrived at 18.30 and we were the only customers there, which was fine as it was early,we then ordered food from the main menu, the first three choices were unavailable which I find unacceptable as it is the main menu. Our food arrived at 19.35, by this time after a 55min wait we were very hungry and cold as the staff were washing floors with the front and back doors open. The food was just about edible,we left soon after and went to a great little pub in Tooting for another meal.
I don't think this place will last if it only relies on pretentious locals to keep it going, all customers should be made to feel welcome,I won't be
spending my hard earned money in there again.
We have just moved into the battersea area and have been looking for a nice bar to relax in and artisan and vine has certainly hit the spot. The bar staff are very welcoming and the bar itself has a warm and cosy interior.
The wine list is varied and interesting, and all natural or bio-dynamic. We had 2 bottles of the Dencon which was simply divine. We looked through the story-book wine list and Kathryn, the owner, came and spoke to us for a good 20 minutes about her travels through wine country and her personal experiences. The whole experience could not have been more welcoming.
The food menu is expansive and very appetising. We settled on seared tuna and duck a l'orange and we were very pleasantly surprised, both dishes were beautifully served, perfectly cooked and the flavour of the duck was simply outstanding. Chef Olly came and asked us how our food was which was a really nice touch too.
Overall a great spot for a relaxing glass of wine or a bite to eat and we will certainly be back
We've always been fans of the wine list at artisan & vine, now with their new chef, the food is also really worth a visit. We had the Valentine's Day menu with matched wines - really incredible. The seared tuna and rack of lamb were both cooked to perfection. And they've renovated the bathrooms too! We're staying loyal regulars.
I don't think Artisan and Vine deserve five stars
The wine list is interesting
But the food is just terrible
Not as terrible as the cleanliness though
Lovely venue with a great atmosphere. The wine was fantastic and the staff were helpful and attentive and made some great recommendations on the wine. The food was also delicious with the cheese and charcuterie platter being a highlight.
This is definitely a spot I will return to and would recommend to friends.
I love artisan&vine... I discovered it at a friend's 30th birthday party & my friends & I have been regulars since! The experience is always interesting - the staff remember what we've drunk in the past & make recommendations of what we might like in the future. It's a gorgeous place to relax & have an easy meal on a week night & has good party buzz on weekends.
This place has some potential, but there are too many other great places in London to enjoy great wines.
Positives:
wine tasted very good (organic wines are interesting, but not for everyone)
Negatives:
Service was average at best - not very attentive
Menu was basic, which is ok, but food just did not taste as fresh as advertised
The venue is NOT CLEAN, it would be fair to say it is dirty. From floors, to windows, to plates and silverware. Also, womens toilet was unkept.
Atmosphere was boring: Not many people there and furniture is outdated.
Overall, not worth going to.
