In short , worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Unsympathetic aggressive manager who made promises during the week we organized our visit and basically made good on none of them and even went as far as embarrassing our guests by point fingers at them one by one and accusingly asking them if they ate a dessert from a buffet menu we were forced to accept after he wouldn't honor his promise that we could order from the full menu on arrival.
The treatment we received was nothing short of shocking but then again after seeing him abuse his staff behind the bar in the middle of the restaurant in front of guests should have been an indication of things to come.
He attempted to overcharge us without asking us which option we selected for buffet courses and got defensive and ultimately aggressive when we challenged this.
At one point he told me that he was letting us use the taste card on a Friday against their policy as my girlfriend sounded nice on the phone! Really ignorant! Then I checked their policy ... they don't have a no taste card on Friday policy.
The Radisson Edwardian group as well as the hotel manager at this venue shall be getting a letter.
I was in Aston Restaurant last week - in such a noble restaurant you are usually treated like king & queen - unfortunately not in Aston. The staff including the manager didn´t treat us well. You don´t feel like they take care of you as a customer - but you really feel watched/controlled! If you eat buffet food there (like I did) you should be careful - because you might be charged something you didn´t eat (I had to pay for a dessert I didn´t order/eat). If the service is poor - you can not enjoy the nice food and the beautiful decoration (the atmosphere)...a pitty! Me and my friends are definitely going somewhere else next time!
Me and my boyfriend were invited to Aston Restaurant on Friday night 13th of April. It was my friend's birthday dinner and we all had a good time even they messed up with menu and we had a buffet food. Unfortunately at the end the manager of the restaurant came to us, pointing with his finger at each of us, asking:'did you have a dessert?' The way he asked was very offensive and rude.
We don't recommend this place, especially if you want to enjoy special evening like this!
I had a really bad experience there, celebrating my birthday with 14 friends. They messed me around with the menu. Wanted me to order meals two days ahead and then when I ordered told me they just changed the menu. They agreed we could order when we come and then told me no, it's too many people, and we could have only buffet food. They over charged us as well. Not all of us had desserts however, they charged them anyway.
And the main manager was very rude.
Horrible experience, don't recommend at all.
When I booked over the phone the fellow expressed surprise at my mention of a ViewCard (assuming I meant a TasteLondon card).. so I planned a backup restaurant just in case. Upon arrival, 3 staff again werent sure what the VL card was, and took it away to photocopy it, and verify... eventually all was fine though, and we were treated very well. Food was great, and staff pleasant and cheerful. Highly recommended.. esp with the connection to the Aston Martin club, it added a little extra to the atmosphere I think!
After such an extensive refurb you'd think the Aston Restaurant and Bar would be packed to capacity, after all the Aston Restaurant and Bar has quite a large following. The day I turned out there however it was like the plague! That didn't bother me one iota though - great service, exceptional food and wine - what more could I ask for?
Aston Restaurant and Bar is a pretty stylish place that just happens to do good food too! Aston is a good spot for a romantic dinner.
