This place is disgusting I went there last week I got dragged in by some weird guy off the street all arguing with each other me and my friends were scared. We ended up paying to get in a small seedy bar not a club and we had the worst night ever,
as me and my mate were walking into the bar the leaflet man that works outside gave him a flyer that he didnt really want so he dropped it on the floor and the leaflet man flipped out and threatened us, he grabbed my friend in a very threatening manner and tried to get him to pick up the small leaflet but we decided to just walk out and we are now never coming back again. He then threatened to beat up my friend and the funny thing is that he wasnt even a security door man; just a crazy leaflet distributer that clearly hates his job. Avenue clearly doesnt know how to hire "normal sane individuals." avenue have now lost two loyal punters because of him. Too bad.
My friends & I came here for first time sat nite. ok bar with nice atmosphere inside it is a shame that the staff is not very welcome, very unfriendly man bouncer and the female bouncer. It does cost £0 to smile and be polite. Drinks are normal amount for this area, coatroom to much! bar only take cash, it is a pain. will not go again i think.
This was the real deal!!Me and the boyz got here about 9ish and the place was heaving!
Got to the bar in no time...2-4-1 cocktails and beers were reasonable in price!
Music was pumping..defo the place for pre drinks.Good atmosphere and mixture of peeps!!
recommend this to everyone and anyone!!
Went here Saturday with all my friends for the first time. I have to say the atmosphere was incredible. You could tell alot of effort had been made on making a certain aumbience also.
A mixed variety of people and of all ages also so i didn't feel out of place. In fact i felt very at home here considering i'm from up north!!
All in all i thoroughly enjoyed my time in this bar and all the cocktails were to die for. Not to mention we most definitely were ready for a club after with all the 2-4-1 cocktails we had!!
I highly recommend this bar to everyone that's visiting London. Felt right at home here!!

Me and my friends regularly go into London's Leicester square but have never ventured to this particular bar before. I have to say this bar is now our new favourite bar to go to!2-4-1 cocktails...how can you go wrong and the music was amazing. So much so that we didn't leave until we were kicked out!! I highly reccomend this bar!!!!
This place is a rip off. 5 pounds entry, 4 pounds cloakroom, 6 pounds for a beer, bad music, too many guys, 1 pound if you want to get out for a smoke.
Not to mention the staff is lying, when we entered, we asked if it's possible to pay with card at the bar, they said yes, but of course the bar is cash only. We asked the ticket collector then whether we can step out, he said yes, just grab a wrist-piece for free, of course it turned out to be 1 pound. The most of the people came in, went out at the instant when they realized what's the goal of the management here: rip you off. Stay away.
Review of 'Avenue' bar when it converts into a club. Went on a Saturday night so my review may only apply for then:
Entry/Bouncers: I only went to 'Avenue' as I brought £10 ticket from street club promoters offering me an entry into 'Rumba' club and a free entry into 'Avenue. So I thought, I got a free entry, why not check it out? I don't know how much is entry for 'Avenue' on its own. Didn't have a queue, just went in. This was 1am.
Music: Commercial chart hits from recent years to 2000's. All good. Played the Turkish 'kiss kiss' song too.
Drinks: Standard central London. Brought 340ml bottle of Magners cider (same size as a standard beer bottle) costing around £5.
The Crowd: Too many guys! Male to Female ratio 3:1.
Staff: Were ok I suppose. Didn't interact with them much. Cloakroom attendants were friendly.
Venue: One dance floor as it is a bar by day. Way too crowded for me so we danced upstairs, where there is no dance floor. Most people upstairs just stare down at the dance floor and not dance much. The whole venue is compacted into one.
Additional Costs: £2 for a coat in cloakroom. Apparently if you wanna go outside to smoke then you have to pay £1 for re-entry band.
Verdict: Too many guys; it's small; it's a bar trying to make money on a Saturday night by being a club; visit for a casual night out, wouldn't recommend for birthdays.
