Mixed feeling regarding this place, I went for a hen party and we had the BBQ which was £60 a head, after hearing wonderful things about the food and garden i was very excited and didnt mind paying this hefty sum. BIG disappointment! :( the BBQ food was so average i could have cooked it myself on a throwaway BBQ! I was expecting amazing meats and fish in delicious marinades! nope! fresh lovely salads with dressings to die for! nope! very disappointing! The service was also pretty poor, when we bought a bottle of wine at the bar (different waitress) and refused to pay 12.5% service on every bottle we bought boy did the attitude change, the bottle was slammed down , my credit card was dumped on the bar and not a smile or a thank you in sight. We were actually going to a cash tip at the end but after that performance she could whistle for it. When paying the bill due to previous arrangements my friend put the whole food cost on her credit card and our table of 15 was going to put in a cash tip so the waitress got it. Just as we had put in £9 quid each tip on the table the manager stormed over demanding to know why we had not paid the bill properly, and that we owed them money! my friend pointed out that actually we only had to pay the food bill and service is optional. She pointed to the wad of cash at the table and said that was the tip. Im sorry but for the manager to come over demanding that we owed them money is soooo unprofessional. He should have asked if there was a problem as we had not paid a service charge, very unprofessional! We did leave the tip, personally i wanted to take it back and spend it on the hen LOL!
the nightclub was nothing special, actually one of the worst DJs i've heard he could not mix at all and not one song was played long enough to enjoy! although he did play some good tunes, it was £10.50 for a vodka and coke! eh! why!? so we bought wine £24 was the cheapest it was so foul i didnt finish the glass! and i like a good drink! haha S

Nice location but costly - which is 'almost' met by the food quality

For my partner's birthday we went yesterday to Babylon Roof Gardens. Overall a nice location but the food did not match our expectations, considering the quite steep prices. As first course we had a pigeon which in itself was quite nice but lukewarm - and came with some raw shallots which overpowered the tender taste of the bird. The goat cheese of my partner was just a piece of cold cheese, put on a plate.
As main courses we had fish (Sea bream and Stone bass) which in itself were nicely done but the side dishes (something with a lot of half-raw onions) were again fighting with the fish's tender taste. For desert we had creme brulee which was nicely done but quite heavy to digest.

The waiters are mostly attentive (our wine only arrived at the main course) but don't expect this 'invisible serving' you usually receive in higher-priced places - the atmosphere in Babylon is simply too hectic.

The location is great and if you fancy going to the nightclub with an own garden (on the 6th floor!) afterwards, it is a nice spot to hang around. But the price/quality ratio does not allow more than three stars

Dined here in March 2009. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine, which, although expensive, met every expectation.

The service was professional and expedient. The venue is quiet and well laid out.

Even managed to get access to the club below - that was a disappointment (see Roof Gardens reviews), but a nice place to have a post dinner drink if you can get out into the garden. Book early.

I cannot recommend Babylon highly enough - from the moment of sending an email enquiry, which led to a quick phone response and easy booking, the level of service was excellent.

We chose Babylon to celebrate my parent's 40th Anniversary with a small group of family. Food was very good - fresh flavours, creative approach and well presented. For the quality of the food, location and level of service it represents reasonable value for money.

The thing that sold it for me was the quality of the service - managed to balance being attenttive without being in-your-face. Even when a slight problem, a dish slightly too cold, came up, it was dealt with quickly and very courteously. Staff were helpful with explaining unusual foods on the menu.

The pacing between courses was also ideal - you don't want to feel like you are being rushed through your meal, but neither do you want to be waiting ages. Again the balance was achieved.

Great location, good views over London, stylish interior. Babylon is definitely somewhere to go if you want a great meal and somewhere to impress!

I went to Babylon for lunch and tried their set menu offer. First of all, I must say that the price was very reasonable for a restaurant of Babylon's quality (£20.00 per head!). The food was very delicious, the portions not too small, not too big (just a small minus point for the brownie though).

The waiters at Babylon were polite and friendly. Lastly, I strongly recommend to eat outside (if the weather permits) because the view is so good and the atmosphere, so tranquil.

We had a really good meal at Babylon the other night. The food was of a high standard as was the service. We were also able to enjoy the pleasant surroundings and the great view that Babylon has to offer.

I really liked Babylon! I'd heard great reviews but was a bit cautious in believing them.

I came out with nothing bad to say, which is rare! The food was really delightful, the waiters were polite and not too much concerned with their own issues, it was reasonably priced (about £60 per head for 3 course meal and 1/2 a bottle of wine each) and the view...fabulous.

We weren't by the window as we booked too late but we had a secluded table which was very romantic. In a way this was lot better as not everyone could see your business.
