Came to check Bar 104 out after reading the reviews. The bar is okay, although I have to say Medicine is better stocked, and whilst the music was good, the club part was closed. But - I am joining the fanclub here - the guy behind the bar is great.

This site seems to love him, and I do too. He is easily the best guy in EC, and one of the best in London without a doubt. Bar 104 is good, but good-average. The real reason to go here is the barman.

I have been to Bar 104 several times recently, as the place went through a sticky patch and, as someone else wrote, had the most scruffy rude barman who just wanted to drink as much as he served.

The General Manager is now back behind the bar, and to be honest is the real reason for us going. It's a cool enough bar, with a good range of drinks - but he is just amazing. He is mad about spirits, and watching him make cocktails is pure theatre. Having chatted to him I know that he trained in the big hotels and clubs in the West End and it really, really shows.

Whoever owns Bar 104 needs to keep him and not make the mistakes with quality and service that they did before.

Bar 104 has recently totally refurbished itself, and a group of us came to check it out again after sometime. It's really upped the ante, keeping the Manager who has a seemingly encyclopaedic knowledge of drinks and cocktails, and losing the other guy who was more interested in getting pissed.

The downstairs club area now has sofas and much more seating, and the music policy has also been changed with cool urban beats replacing the previous mix of dance and RnB.
After several months of not visiting Bar 104 we're going back next week as Bitter Orange and Violet Martinis rule!

Found Bar 104 on Saturday night. It's much smarter than the grunge that some of the Hoxton bars tend to be - and all the better for it. They actually understood the concept of service!

Bar 104 has a fantastic cocktail bar in the basement, the guy behind the bar allowed us to taste try different cocktails and he really knows his stuff.

Went to Bar 104 last night for a leaving do from work, there were about 40 of us and the staff at Bar 104 made us feel very welcome.

Shane, the guy behind the bar was very knowledgeable about cocktails and their resident DJ was great at playing funky house and retro 80s. It was very eclectic but worked well.

Bar 104 is special in that it's right by the tube and they make you feel welcome every time you go there (they even remembered what our drinks were!). I found the staff at Bar 104 to be friendly and knowledgeable about cocktails. The night we went there was a DJ playing great tracks from the 80s, 90s and bang up to date. It's a great venue to meet at after work and wind down before heading off home.

Bar 104 is fairly good. It's nothing but then who wants extra special all the time? Bar 104 fits the bill.
